What will the weather be like in New York during August?

As with most cities and countries in the northern hemisphere, New York City August is the hottest time. Temperatures generally reach 28°C and go down to 21°C. The weather is therefore good and quite sunny in general. On the other hand, despite these pleasant temperatures, the month of August (like the month of July) is also the month of wetter of the year. So don't forget your umbrella and suitable clothes in your suitcase, because the rain can come quickly.

During your stay, take the time to discover iconic monuments and walk the main streets of New York. However, don't forget to hydrate regularly and to stay in the shade at the beginning of the afternoon (between 13 p.m. and 16 p.m.), because the sun is very strong during these few hours.

During the month of August, I also advise you not to take the New York subway. Indeed, the heat is very unpleasant.

During the day, you can go bathe. When you go to New York in August, you don't immediately think of beaches that the Big Apple offers us, and yet! These are generally very clean and pretty.

In the evening, the climate is very pleasant. You can therefore take advantage of New York evenings, participate in different concerts and festivals which will take place in famous places of the city.

New York in August: a little detour to the beach

A New York, les beaches are very busy during the summer period. These are spread over the different districts of New York (The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Long Island) and allow tourists (and locals) to cool off and enjoy a pleasant moment with their family, in couple or friends. The beaches of New York are mostly very clean and have different services (barbecue, table, playgrounds…) very interesting to have a good time.

As for the water temperature, it varies depending on the beach, but in general it is around the 20°C. If you don't want to swim, you can always enjoy the sun to sunbathe or take a stroll along the beach. Many bars, ice cream parlors and restaurants are also located near New York's beaches.

Note: Coney Island beach is the most popular At New York. Located a few minutes from Manhattan, this beach is very welcoming and stretches over 6 kilometers in length.
