  • A small section to know where Ko Phi Phi is

  • Where to sleep in Koh Phi Phi ?
  • How to get to Koh Phi Phi from Phuket or Krabi
  • Do you want to do a Trek to discover Koh Phi Phi with a guide?
  • You want to do a boat trip (Snorkel, cave, lagoon, paddle, Kayak ...)
  • Read my article "Aperitif by boat and hiking in Koh Phi Phi"

Looking for activities,!

1) Where is Koh Phi Phi located?

Ko Phi Phi is located in a small archipelago in the Andaman Sea. You have all seen this small island in a documentary about the terrible Tsunami that hit Ko Phi Phi in 2004. Today there is no trace, everything has been reconstructed.

Ko PhiPhi is a very touristy island and you will understand why. It has two main islands, Koh Phi Phi Don, it is on this one that you will disembark, where you will eat, sleep and celebrate, and Koh Phi Phi Ley, that is where the famous beach from the movie “The beach” of Dicaprio is located.

You will need 300 bathrooms (€ 8) to be able to set foot on this beach and you do not plan to stay sleeping on this island, only Thais have this power ...

Koh Phi Phi is made up of six islands, you have as I told you Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh but also the bamboo island, the Yung island, Biba Nok and Bida Nai. This group is called the "flagships of the Andaman Sea".

2) Visitante Koh Phi Phi

What to visit in Koh Phi Phi? Is it worth spending a night in Ko Phi Phi? In short, you hesitate to see Koh Phi Phi, so I will give you my feedback.

You should know that Koh Phi Phi is a very touristy island, suddenly, in the forums you will see two types of comments. Some will tell you that you have to avoid it, because it is too touristy and expensive, others like me will tell you visitante Koh Phi Phi for at least 2 nights. For my part, I only went one night. We arrived at 18 in the afternoon and left the next day at 16 in the afternoon, it was too fast for my liking and we could not do everything we wanted, in short, I recommend that you spend at least 2 nights.

Considering everyone's positions, I think Koh Phi Phi is still an island to visit and see with your own eyes, it really deserves it. So yes, it is touristy, and that is one reason not to visit a place! Go there, you will not be disappointed, I found it a very beautiful island.

  • Tonsai

It is in the port of Tonsai where you will arrive, it is the place where everyone meets. This is where you will find restaurants, shops, bars, tattoo and piercing parlors ...

  • Hike with a French

During my stay in Koh Phi Phi I did a half day Koh Phi Phi Trek, and highly recommend it, you will love it!

This is how it goes. The walk takes place in noon from 14 pm to 20 pm It is not a difficult hike so anyone can do it. You will do the viewpoints, the jungle, the mangrove, and you will end with a sunset on a magnificent and secret beach where it is possible to swim.

You will visit a natural pool in a cave and return at night with lighthouses.
On the menu: Snack, dinner and cocktail.

  • Take a boat trip

Here is a friendly boat tour, an experienced guide on board will make you discover the small places of Koh Phi Phi impressive. Get on a long traditional boat and head to the beach of the monkeys, some small photos with their little animals.

On the menu, small caves, blue lagoon, stops to submerge the head with mask and snorkel to see fish and corals, possibility of seeing Pointe Noire sharks. A stop at the blue Pi-Leh Lagoon with the most translucent waters of Phi Phi or for a little moment of relaxation with paddling and kayaking.

or on this 3-in-1 boat trip (morning or afternoon). If you want to take a boat trip with a drink and visit the 5 islands by speedboat.

  • SPEED BOAT to visit the 5 islands of Koh PhiPhi (with diving):

You also have the “SpeedBoat on Koh Phi Phi” activity:

If you want to take a boat trip with a drink and visit the 5 islands by speedboat.

  • Diving

For that, head to Tonsai Beach, next to the port. It is in Koh Phi Phi Ley (the small island in front), where you will go diving. But I recommend the boat ride with the guide, it's really the best! or on this 3-in-1 boat trip (morning or afternoon).

You can request the service of a Thai to take you on a canoe ride (long lines) around this island (count 500 baths or € 15). Ask him if he has masks and snorkels in his canoe (usually everyone does, but just in case…).

After learning that with the many speedboats, the coral is increasingly threatened, despite everything it is still a beautiful place to dive.

Otherwise you can still go on big boats, I think it will be cheaper.

  • Mirador de Koh Phi Phi (Trek)

A walk of about 45 minutes, which is worth it, because when you get to the top the view is magnificent. Remember to bring each a large bottle of water and a lid as it can get very hot. Go there at the end of the day to enjoy the sunset, otherwise early in the morning (and even very early for sunrise) to avoid getting too hot. Doing it with a guide (going through a guide can be dangerous).

That is, there are 3 viewpoints, one is free and the other two will cost you 30 bathrooms (take at least 200 bathrooms to buy a small snack at the top), but the view is worth the detour. .

Be careful, climb well, you also go through the jungle a bit ... Do not go there with flip flops or open shoes, in fact you will go through the jungle so you will meet some animals ... Do not touch it ...

From Tonsai Village, follow the signs for "Tsunami Evacuation Route", then the signs for "Lookout 1".

/! ATTENTION !! Many people try to get to the View Point on their own, be aware that these roads are dangerous (except View Point 1 in the map below), others avoid doing it alone). Therefore, it is best to do this guided tour with a Frenchman, he will know how to take you through the best places (.

  • Monkey beach

This beach deserves a detour, because in addition to its beauty you can see monkeys in total freedom. On the other hand, avoid feeding them, they can be aggressive. I advise you to arrive early enough in the morning to avoid the many tourist boats.

Don't try to feed them, they can become aggressive. You can book this 3-in-1 boat trip (morning or afternoon). passing through Monkey Beach, then snorkeling, watching a sunset ...

It can be nice to kayak from Loh Dalam Bay beach, that is, across the harbor. Where we party at night Count 150 baths for the kayak.

  • Maya Bay (the beach from the movie "The beach" with Leonardo Dicaprio)

This is where one of the most beautiful beaches in Asia is hidden. As I told you, to get there you have to take a boat. That is, Maya Bay cannot be docked, but suddenly you can take pictures of the beach without tourists and the seabed is quickly repopulated with exotic fish.

You can book this 3-in-1 boat trip (morning or afternoon) or here (I'll let you compare) that passes through Maya Bay, then snorkel, see a sunset ...

If you want to take a boat trip with a drink and visit the 5 islands by speedboat.

This is where it is (bottom of map) - Koh Phi Phi Ley:

  • Boat trip with aperitif for all ages

If you are looking for the same trip but cooler, I recommend NerverLand Phi Phi (it is the same trip but on a big boat and with a bar on board (paying however to make it less crazy and that's for everything) the ages of the hit. .. including children) .13 to 20 h.

  • Speedboat ride with unlimited snack (not available at the moment under Thai law ...)

This speedboat + snack activity on Koh Phi Phi is great for meeting people on Koh Phi Phi.

Edit: this activity is no longer available, I recommend this one which is just as good (.

Age of the question, the span is from 20 to 35 years. Places are limited, so plan ahead. And know that the atmosphere is very festive!

3) Where to sleep in Koh Phi Phi

Where to sleep in Ko Phi Phi? That depends on how you want to play it! Anyway, know that Koh Phi Phi is a very touristy island, hotels are usually full, so remember to book in advance.

  • Where to sleep in Koh Phi Phi with your family or as a couple

Don't stay in Tonsai (between the big beach and the port, the green area), it is very touristy, therefore very noisy. The two red dots on the hotel map below represent the two big boxes on Koh Phi Phi. They are in front of the beach, so if your hotel is next to (green zone) or in front of these two establishments, you will hear the music.

For my part, I stayed in the purple area, quieter, and it is close to the center for activities, bars, restaurants ... I stayed in Cobble Beach, a beautiful address, but remember to book in advance!

  • Here's a little video of Cobble Beach:

Here are other addresses that I found there that are in the red and purple area of the map above. From the red zone you can see the port, and therefore the ships that pass ...

  • Where to sleep in Koh Phi Phi with the familycalm down ... (red zone):

The Bay View Resort (15 min walk from Tonsai) is a good address. The Viking Nature Resort (a 20 minute walk from Tonsai) and the Paradise Resort (a bit far but very nice, a 30 minute walk from Tonsai). These addresses overlook a beautiful and quiet beach.

Otherwise you have good directions to the other side, perfect for avoiding crowds and enjoying nature. The Relax Beach Resort, a true paradise!

Finally, the Adaman Resort which is located in this sector but closer to Tonsai (10 minutes on foot).

If you're in a relationship but still a bit partying, and suddenly you want to be downtown anyway, you've got Cobble Beach, it's a good compromise for those who want to be downtown, without too much to hear the noise from the party and being in a nice but not too expensive place.

  • Where to sleep in Koh Phi Phi in economy mode, backpack ...

If you are going with friends, to party or looking for a cheap place to sleep in Koh Phi Phi, know that you can find hotels for 900 baht / night for a room for 2 people. Right in the center and without the noise of the clubs, the Sea Shell and the Marine, 2 good places to sleep on Koh Phi Phi cheaply.

Otherwise, you also have or TripAdvisor. Take your time to compare.

4) Where to go out in Koh Phi Phi

Here's where to party on Ko Phi Phi:

  • Where to go in Koh Phi Phi

You have two options to party on Koh Phiphi, or go to the beach located at Loh Lana Bay (across the harbor, "Ao Tonsai Pier"), or go to one of the bars (try the Reggae Bar;)) that they are between the port and this beach. To keep it simple, here it is for you (link from googleMap):

Beach side:

Regardless, Koh Phi Phi is famous for being a party island so don't worry, they will serve you well.

  • Where to eat in Koh Phi Phi

Well, it won't be difficult for you to find a restaurant in Koh Phi Phi, again, the island is not very big and you only have one town. It is up to you to walk along the coast or between the port and the beach where we celebrate. Don't hesitate to eat grilled fish;)

  • The only bar

Do you want to relax in a cozy bar with a magnificent view of the beach to admire the fire dances of Koh Phi Phi?

I recommend "The only bar" oriented near the water in the northern part of the island of Phi Phi Don. Bar, restaurant, partially open-air, located on Lo Dalum bay overlooking the lagoon and the city lights.

On the menu, varied food, pleasant space, mixed music, large terrace with seats available, billiards available, board games, beer pong ... well, a good address (also run by French).

  • Fparty on a boat

You will find many tourist spots to book a sea trip on a large ship (music, bar, food…) with several people, which can also be pleasant. and here to read the article "Aperitif on a boat in Koh Phi Phi".

If you are looking for boat trips without necessarily partying or on this 3 in 1 boat tour.

5) How to get to Ko Phi Phi from Phuket, Krabi or Koh PhanGan

This is how you will be able to get to Ko Phi Phi, you have no choice anyway, you have to take the boat / Ferry or the speedboat but I advise you to go by Ferry. It takes longer, but it is cheaper. Allow 1h30 - 1h45 to depart from Phuket or Krabi.

For the speedboat, count between 2500 and 3000 bathrooms per person for a return trip during the day (60-75 €). The trip lasts 45 minutes, leaving at 7 am and returning at 16:30 pm, but once again I do not recommend this solution. Better to take the ferry and spend at least one night there (I recommend staying there 2 nights so you can see everything).

  • Únase a Koh Phi Phi de Koh Pha Ngan

/! Si quieres llegar a Koh Pha Ngan desde Koh Phi Phi (or Koh Phangan, the island famous for its full moon party), you will have to get to Krabi, take the plane to land in Koh Samui and then head to the port of Koh Samui to take the boat.

There are only 3 flights per day between Krabi and Koh Samui (account € 80 / pers). Otherwise from Krabi you have the bus, but it is much longer there!

  • Únete a Koh Phi Phi desde Phuket

Located 50 km from Ko Phi Phi. You will depart from Rassada Pier port in Phuket and arrive at Tonsai Pier on Ko Phi Phi Don.

  • Únase a Koh Phi Phi desde Krabi

Located 40 km from Krabi. Depart Klong Jilad Pier Port in Krabi and you will arrive at Tonsai Pier in Ko Phi Phi Don.

Well there you go, I think you have all the keys in hand to visitante Koh Phi Phi as it should be
